The castle Bezdes is one of the most interesting points in Czech Republic. The most precious place there can be discovered in the east wing of the castle palace- the early Gothic chapel. The two stately towers are the dominating feature of Bezdez. The big one is 40metres high and offers a nice view of surroundings. The second one has name “Certova” (devils) and is 20 meters high. The castle was built by order of the king Premysl Otakar II with the view of protection of his properties. The construction took from 1264 to 1279. As soon as is 1279 another Czech king Vaclav II was imprisoned there. The lords from Duba were next holders. The castle is set on the 604metres high hill called Velky Bezdez in the Ceska Lipa region.
